Races of Vana'Diel

There are five different races of Vana'diel that you can play in FFXI, here is a little information about them all:

Humes

The humes starting city is Bastok, though you can choose to reside anywhere in Vana'diel. They have well rounded stats, no real strong or weak stats.

As the home city is Bastok, if you do start there you recieve a Bastok Ring: +3 HP, +1 Dex, and +1 Vitality.

Elvaans

The elvaans starting city is San'dOria, though you can choose to reside anywhere in Vana'diel. They are more suited to the melee side of things with stats strong in STR and HP, even Mind though the weakness in INT and MP make them less desireable for magic users.

As the home city is San'dOria, if you do start there you recieve a San'dOrian Ring: +1 STR, +1 Mind, and +2 Defense.

The tarutarus starting city is Windurst, though you can choose to reside anywhere in Vana'diel. They are most suited to magic classes, having strong stats in INT and MP and weak in STR and HP.

As the home city is Windurst, if you do start there you recieve a Windurst Ring: +3 MP, +1 Agility, and +1 INT.

The mithras starting city is Windurst with the Tarutarus, though you can choose to reside anywhere in Vana'diel. They have strong stats in DEX and AGI making them the perfect theif, and average stats for most else which is why you see magic users and melee picking this race also.

As the home city is Windurst, if you do start there you recieve a Windurst Ring: +3 MP, +1 Agility, and +1 INT.
